Pressed into with thy mad love’s lips 

seething; burning I cry out grasping, 

gasping,

Husband!

       

I 

can’t

 

breathe! 

My lord, my life, where are you?

I see you not now, amidst the swarming, 

spectral beasts’ braying! 

Oh, what brightly hued treachery!

Is there no escape?

So many eyes watching; writhing bodies, 

spitting, hissing, slurping tongues with greedy,

mocking, menacing, gaping mouths and teeth, 

like shards of glass, wait for you and 

I

  fall 

into 

them.

Will you not let me live? 

Thus, am I forsaken?

Oh, how Love’s divine light is fractured!

I am forfeit husband.  

I, a doomed, frightened ghost, reach out,

finally, to be hopelessly swallowed up in 

foul deceit’s garish, swarming, squirming,

cesspit with only this 

thy

one

last

kiss.
