ART EMBRACES WORDS takes place at the Lafayette Library and is a recurring series of free events featuring emerging authors reading excerpts of their work, local artists speaking about their visual art, and a Q&A with audience members. An outdoor reception with light refreshments follows.

  • Art Embraces Words 2024 | May, August, and October

We alternate emerging writer and artist presenters, announced by Co-chair and Emcee Linda Hartmann of the California Writers Club Mt. Diablo Branch. LAC Board President Sue Farmer keeps us on time throughout the program. A media table is provided for authors, artists, and information of interest to the literary and artistic community. Book sales are encouraged.

 

ART EMBRACES POETRY takes place at Town Hall Theatre in Lafayette and follows a similar format.

Emerging writers Elizabeth Perlman, Salman Ansari, and Jennifer Granat will read from their work while s

urrounded by original artwork and illustrations. Lovers of the spoken word and art are invited to join us at the Lafayette Library & Learning Center Arts & Science Room; reception follows in the courtyard. This free program is generously funded by a grant from the Community Foundation of Lafayette.

Lafayette Library Arts & Science Room, 3941 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Lafayette

Each writer and artist is introduced by co-chair Linda Hartmann who also fields a short Q&A.

After the poetry and art presentation, join us in the Courtyard for a Reception from 3:30 - 5:00 pm.
