Art Embraces Words

Our 2022 Art Embraces Words season is scheduled on Saturday afternoons with readings from 2:00 - 3:30 pm followed by a reception. We alternate writer and artist presenters, announced by our emcee Sue Farmer, LAC Board member and co-chair of Art Embraces Words. Each presenter speaks for approximately 10 minutes with a short audience Q&A. A reception follows outdoors with light refreshments in the adjacent Library Courtyard. 


Halloween Costume Event on Oct. 29, 2 - 3:30 pm

Save the date for our next free, live program! While costumes are optional for our October 29, 2022 event, we invite you to appear as your favorite Literary or Artistic character. Prizes will be awarded by Jill Gelster and Kim Bonney of Orinda Starlight Village Players. Be there to see which playful characters show up! Find out who inspires lovers of literature and art. Listen to readings of work by Jo Mele, Camille Minichino, Brian Shea and David Flower. View some spooky artwork by Jennifer Granat, Lamorinda Arts Alliance newsletter Editor, who will speak about her creative process.  Local artist Ruth Stanton is showing her 42" x 34" acrylic painting, "Trick or Treat?" Reception on the vine covered patio outside the Arts & Science Room immediately follows. Who is it behind The Cunning Little Vixen mask inspired by Janacek's opera of the same name?
