Although this photo just seems like another stock-image silhouette and a nice sunset, It was taken the first time my grandparents were able to leave the house and go for a hike with our family after my Grandmother finally finished her cancer treatment. The couple in the photo, my Grandmother and Grandfather, never seemed to be an extremely affectionate pair with each other, especially when my family and I were around. But after her diagnosis, it became extremely apparent how much they truly cared for each other; particularly throughout the extreme hardships that chemo treatment and surgery brought. I feel like I was able to capture the relief, hope, and love that came with overcoming this ordeal in this photograph.
