Noor Ahmed – The Light

I was assigned to create a piece representing a culture or religion I did not celebrate. So, I decided that I wanted my piece to be about Diwali, the festival of lights. I learned a little about the culture and holidays as I spent time creating this piece. It also allowed me to experiment with the markers and how to make the woman holding the light pop out from the colorful background around her.
