Naia Chiou-Williams – Push and Pull
“Push and Pull” was a piece I did this past year for my final project on connection using hands. For this piece, I wanted to express a certain type of connection where it is embraced and fought at the same time. I wanted to express this through the hands facing away from each other but still in close proximity because of the string keeping them together. It showcases emotional unavailability and an experience that is personal to me. By creating this piece, I feel that I am accepting this experience instead of running away from it.
