Max Rubin – Insanity

This piece is part of a larger series called “silhouettes”. The premise of the medium is a small book of handwritten written poetry, with a high contrast image transferred through citra-solve on top of the writing. This poem reads, “The more I write, the more I fall apart. The more I fall apart, the more I write. pen meets paper, stability meets oblivion. My perfect loop of insanity.” The image I used for the transfer was intentionally very low detail to match the vague meaning behind the poem, the viewer is meant to imprint their own personal meaning onto the writing and the image. And take away from the piece whatever it is they’re looking for.
