Lilah Wold – Reflection

My painting depicts me looking in the mirror in astonishment as I see my toddler self look back. The piece aims to explore the change in people over time. Every day we look in the mirror, closely scrutinizing our reflections, yet we don’t notice differences in ourselves on the day by day because often they appear slowly over time. Only in moments of reflection do we consider and appreciate the horror or amazement that is the change within ourselves. The painting was made using gouache on canvas.
