Kaylan Hu – 上海 2009

This piece was made with colored pencil on white card stock paper. I used a graphite sketch for the base and then erased as I went in with colored pencil. It was created for a school project, in which my goal was to create a piece centered on the nostalgia of childhood. The photo this piece was based on is one of my older sister and I as children in our grandparents’ 上海 (Shanghai) apartment, where we spent much of our early childhood.
