Description

To create this piece, I combined both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques. The stem of the flower is made out of a bowl that I threw on the wheel. After letting the bowl dry out, I carefully attached pieces made out of slabs to act as the petals. For the colors, I first used underglaze to glaze the bowl yellow and create a gradient of light blue to lilac on the petals, and then used overglaze to brighten the yellow and create a glossy effect on the whole piece.
