This Zoom Workshop is sponsored by curators from three art organizations: Lamorinda Arts Council, California Writers Club Mt. Diablo Branch and Lamorinda Arts Alliance. They have collaborated to present an unusual exhibit in the Art Gallery at the Orinda Library entitled “Ekphrasis Collaboration” in May 2023. The workshop is for artists and authors who are interested in participating and want to learn more about the exhibit.

Ekphrasis is a Greek word meaning writing that describes art; the curators say art can also describe writing. The Greek poet Homer is one of the earliest writers who popularized the term. Authors write about visual artwork and visual artists create artwork about authors writings.
