Ireland Bailey – Disparity

Firstly I made a collage out of partial black and white photographs and added a grid. I multiplied the measurements and made one as well on a big piece of paper. Then, with pencil, I carefully copied every detail of my collage by hand. And using compressed and vine charcoal, I turned my simple pencil lines into shapes of shadows and light. My drawing shows the contrast between light and dark, sharp and blended, fair and unfair.
