Description
Stack was encouraged by the wife of my oldest son. I had contemplated it but hadn’t figured out how to go about it. I like jeans and pants of that general style. I feel they have become an American uniform for men and women alike. I don’t discard them when I outgrow or wear them out. I see them as infinitely reusable and useful after their life as a garment. This kind of work generally needs an armature of some kind. I built a box to build the sculpture around. This is my homage to blue jeans, and jeans of other colors too. I have another piece that shows a pair of folded jeans, a red over shirt and white tee shirt. I like the infinite opportunities in the subject of garments as a sort of still-life object.
