The mission of the Lamorinda Arts Council is to ignite and sustain artistic expression and appreciation for all ages throughout Lamorinda.
We are an engaged group of volunteers and donors who develop and produce events, partner with professional organizations and artists, give financial support and awards, and advocate for a vibrant, local culture of visual, performing, and literary arts.

Art Embraces Words Halloween Costume Event!
The Lamorinda Arts Council hosted a special free Halloween-themed Art Embraces Words program on Sat. Oct. 28 at the Lafayette Library. The event featured readings by authors Lani Longshore, AnneMarie Gouveia & Willa Drew and presentations by artists Helen Chu-Hirschberg and Lance Jackson, followed by an outdoor reception and costume contest. Attendees were encouraged to come in costume as their favorite literary or artistic characters. Art Embraces Words and Art Embraces Poetry will be back in 2024.
