“I am infinitely inspired by native plants. This little painting was a commission by a lovely patron of the arts, seeking to support artist during quarantine. He mentioned being drawn to Sticky Monkey Flower, and I happened to have one growing in my backyard! I planted this little one in a rain garden generated to bring run-off from my roof into a seasonal riparian zone. Its bloom bring hummingbirds, butterflies and joy. California Native Plants bring great comfort during stressful times. May we continue to learn from and restore native habitat in the Bay Area!” – Sarita Dougherty
