Description
DMT or (Dimethyltryptamine) is a strong psychedelic drug. There was a proposed theory that your body releases a similar chemical to DMT at death. Evidence for this is insufficient. I explored the question of; How can we explore death and the perception of death by observing different ways people respond to death? I explored this theory visually because it is a response to death. Using acrylics I have created a visual representation of death. The eyes represent the person who is dying while strong hallucinations float around them. The background of the canvas is black to represent death. Through this work, I further explored my use of acrylics and psychedelic painting. Ultimately the colorfulness of this painting represents my interest in the idea despite it not being accepted as scientific theory.
