Description
I created a three piece dinnerware set on the wheel, which consists of a bowl, plate and tea cup. I first started with the tea cup, which is resembles the size of a yunomi (a Japanese styled tea cup). Then I created accompanying pieces to complete the set.
For the overglazing, I wanted to create a dramatic dripping effect to evoke an overwhelming feeling carried in the upper section of each piece, which I accomplished using two different textured overglazes. The glazes also created a burnt golden rim to contrast the predominantly blue bodies of the pieces.
