Description
Using a photo study, I started out with a simple sketch of the proportions and gradually added the shading and finer details to emphasize the realism. I used different kinds of pencils and graphite to create different textures, as well as different kinds of strokes I used to create the different parts of the face. The piece is a sketch of a man’s face lying down- this simplicity leaves space for the interpreter to project their own thoughts and context to it.
