Description
For my piece “Flamingo Pink”, I used gouache and stuck to a few specific colors to get the bright, lively effect I wanted. In this piece, I wanted to be super experimental with in terms of perspective and color scheme. I wanted to place more emphasis on the environment of this painting, to make it more of the main character instead of just the background. I drew inspiration for the color palette and perspective from the Internet, then created the character in the center of the piece from imagination. I spent a lot of time painting the patterns on the walls and the floor to fill up the space, and I am very proud of how it turned out. To me, this piece represents exploration, creativity, and being fun and colorful despite societal expectations.
