About The Award
The Lamorinda Arts Council initiated the Spark The Arts Award program to recognize local artists, patrons, and community members whose efforts are aligned with our mission to ignite and sustain artistic expression and appreciation for all ages throughout Lamorinda.
Award Recipients
On January 31, 2020, Jennifer Perlmutter was presented with a Spark The Arts Award by Jenny Staelin, Lamorinda Arts Council Board Chair, at the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce's annual Marquis Business Person of the Year event at the Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa. The LAC is delighted to present this award to Jennifer in recognition of her creation of the JPG@TheBank "pop-up" gallery in summer of 2019 on the corner of Mt. Diablo Blvd. and Moraga Road, which has revitalized the artistic climate in Lafayette and beyond. Thank you to Jennifer for bringing visual art, spoken word, music, performance art, and other artistic innovations to our community.
Past recipients of the Spark The Arts Award include Mark Coffey, in December 2018, for his work as Editor of the Lamorinda Arts Alliance bi-monthly newsletter.
