Since 2007, the Arts Ambassadors Exhibit & Reception has been held every spring at the Orinda Community Library Art Gallery. Curated by the Orinda Union School District (OUSD) Visual Art Teachers and presented in partnership with Educational Foundation of Orinda (EFO), the exhibit highlights a collection of student art work that includes at least one piece from every OUSD art studio (grades 1-8). The reception also celebrates student performing artists by featuring performances by the OUSD Performing Arts Program.
The exhibit is a wonderful way to provide the public an overview of the OUSD Visual Arts Program and to promote the value of including arts education as a part of the general curriculum. It's also an exciting and special opportunity for the students along with their families to share their artistry in a professional gallery.
In partnership with the Educational Foundation of Orinda (EFO), which funds OUSD art teachers and programs, the Lamorinda Arts Council supports this event by donating and facilitating use of the Orinda Library Art Gallery to EFO, which we curate on a monthly basis.
