My art is about the difference between urban development and nature. The smooth wall represents a cage and restriction humans put on nature, like building major cities on natural lands and also polluting and deforestation. This piece was created from clay and was made by rolling out slabs and constructing it into a little container. The most challenging part was forming the fish to make it seem like they were moving and also creating lots of detail inside the pond. I love art that seems simple and minimalistic, but also filled with details and color. When I was creating this piece, I kept a minimalistic approach on the outside, so it wouldn’t take away from the beauty of the inside details.
