This piece was originally abstract, but the more I added to it the more it looked like a hammer. So in the end I just decided to make a hammer. This piece was made of many different kinds of steel. I utilized MIG welding and ARC welding. These two welders allowed me to work with many thicknesses of metal which made it easier for me to combine all the scrap metal that I had. For the metal, I went to a local junk yard and collected anything that seems interesting or useful. I enjoy welding because its like instant hot glue for metal which means anything is possible and I can make sculptures look any way I want without restriction.
