Michaela Barker – Intersectionality

This artwork is the second cover illustration I completed for my school’s newspaper, the Campo Claw, as an inaugural staff illustrator. This illustration emphasizes the importance of intersectional feminism and raising awareness about sexual assault, with portraits of women of color and the teal ribbon to honor assault survivors. I completed this artwork for our issue on Women’s History and Sexual Assault Awareness Month , including my school’s mascot, the cougar, as a safeguard of the women featured.
