leaves are clenched fists against long, cold night
seeds pop and dive into the sodden womb

breath
flowing
ebbing
roughening
slowing
lengthening
into infinity

as you dropped into this world?

What lucid hands midwife you away?

The scalpel that slices the life-bond
The sword that magnifies the samurai
The spirit-knife that severs flesh from soul
