Description
This work is a self-portrait done digitally, mostly with a simple round brush and a blocking style of rendering where I create large shapes with minimal sketching and refine them into smaller forms. Ink brushes were used for the words and drawings on the papers, which are all poems or sketches I’ve made. The piece explores my experience being both a creative and multiracial, the papers embodying the flurry of thoughts that tend to overwhelm me and the dichotomy of black and white being disrupted by color is representative of how it feels to be in between two worlds and yet distinct from either.
