Audrey Parkin – Autumn Utah Hills

I have always enjoyed observing and painting nature, and for this particular piece, I was inspired by a scene near Sundance, Utah. The stormy clouds above cast stark lighting on the hills, which I tried to capture in my painting. To achieve the effect, I used many layers as well as a variety of values and tints in my process.
