  • How many bartenders will be pouring at the event?
    • We expect to have 20-24 bartenders serving.
  • That seems like a lot of alcohol for people who want to try everything. How do you keep the event safe and sane?
    • Ticket buyers will receive a special event shot glass and drink card, entitling them to one pour per bartender. Bartenders will have strict instructions to keep each sample to less than ½ ounce. Additionally, age verification will happen on the registration website as well as the event registration, and a taxi service will be made available upon request at the event.
  • What is the merchandising?
    • In addition to the shot glasses we will be producing logo’ed ice buckets for the bartenders, and t-shirts for event volunteers, bartenders, and sponsors. Additionally, we will create an e-book with drink recipes emailed to all participants after the event.
  • How does the mobile voting happen?
    • We use a third-party technology vendor which will tabulate mobile phone voting results in real time.
  • Who purchases all the alcohol and ingredients?
    • Bartenders will be instructed to make all their own purchases, with guidelines on total quantities to be served. They will be reimbursed at the end of the event for up to $100 in expenses
    • Bartenders also have the option of signing up for one of our sponor spirits, available on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Who is the target audience, how big will it be and how much will the event cost?
    • We will be marketing to our membership and mailing lists, as well as the general Lamorinda and East Bay communities. We will be doing a direct, personal outreach to restaurants and bars known for craft cocktails and expect to generate interest from their customers as well. Tickets will be limited to 350 pre-sales, and day-of-event ticket sales at the discretion of staff.
