Join us for our September 2019 meeting

TOM TANEYHILL is a fine artist and illustrator who perfected his style while attending the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

After spending several years as successful illustrator, Tom began his own series of work in 2002 Demand for his landscape paintings grew quickly. His work can be found in private and corporate collections.

As an illustrator, he created work within the parameters set by the client. As a fine artist, he created art as an individual statement. He describes his approach to his work this way: “I see my own artistic vision as a union of both disciplines.”

Tom endeavors to portray his subjects in a way that “evokes a sense of beauty. However, my greatest challenge is to find the elusive quality of timelessness hidden within a modern landscape.”

Tom’s work is informed by this John Muir quote: “Beauty beyond thought everywhere, beneath, above, made, and being made forever.”

Tom will be demonstrating the three basic phases of creating a landscape painting from concept to knowing when to stop!
