“We’ve all got a story to tell, whether with words or pictures, or both,” says author and illustrator Elaine Drew. In her “Comics & Storyboards” talk presented by the Pleasanton Art League, she is excited to introduce participants to the many directions cartoons can take.
Drew says famous cartoonists don’t necessarily draw well. “Cartooning depends on ideas more than on drawing ability.” By accessing https://www.pal-art.com/ you can register for the event and download the free Workbook Drew will use for exercises during her presentation.
Her work has been exhibited in New York, California, Paris and England, and featured in many publications. She has shared her illustrations at Art Embraces Words & the Art Gallery at the Orinda Library. Drew is the author of the humorous romantic comedy Courting Trouble, a novel set against the backdrop of an early medieval kingdom. The king and queen, having survived her first novel, solve the mystery of a Nun Too Clever, soon to be released. Learn more at http://www.elainedrew.com.
