Event Details

The Lamorinda Arts Council invites you join them for free Art Embraces Words (AEW) programs at the Lafayette Library & Learning Center Arts & Science Room on June 17 from 2 – 3:30 pm. Local emerging writers read from their work followed by visual artists speaking about their artwork. Patrons are seated in the middle of the room surrounded by artwork from local artists. In this way art literally “embraces” the words spoken by emerging writers who read excerpts from their work from a podium. For more information see https://lamorindaarts.org/art-embraces-words/

The last date in 2023 is our Halloween Themed October 28 Program. We ask participants to arrive in costume as their favorite artistic or literary character. Both artwork and writing should observe the Halloween theme. Prizes from local businesses are awarded by costume designers of a local theater company.

We invite lovers of the spoken word and visual art, writers and visual artists to register online at https://lamorindaarts.org/art-embraces-words/ if they are interested in participating. Programs run from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Reception follows outdoors in the vine covered Library Courtyard. AEW is made possible by a generous grant from the Community Foundation of Lafayette. Try something different!
