KAREN BARRY
April 9, 2019
Tuesday Evening Meeting at 7:30pm
Alamo Women’s Club, 1401 Danville Blvd., Alamo, CA 94507
KAREN BARRY was born in the San Francisco Bay Area but grew up in Colorado. She considers herself an artist “from day one”.
After working as a graphic designer for more than twenty-five years, she decided to dedicate her time and efforts to printmaking.
Karen explored dry-point etching and continued to hone her skills in the printmaking field by translating her drawings into etchings, woodcuts, stone lithographs, and linocuts. Linocut is a printmaking technique in which a sheet of linoleum is used for a relief surface instead of using wood.
Her moto is: “the meaning of life is the celebration of it.”
Karen’s art is influenced by her travels, education, life experiences, and love of the outdoors. Her work had been shown at the Harrington Gallery, Arts Benicia, and Bedford Gallery, to name a few.
Karen will be demonstrating Linocut printmaking technique.
