Join us for our April 10th meeting with oil painter BILL PARSONS

Tuesday Evening April 10th at 7:30pm

Alamo Women’s Club, 1401 Danville Blvd., Alamo, CA 94507

Join us for an evening to welcome guest demonstrator Bill Parsons. Bill grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania amid rolling green hills, gentle woods, and friendly fenceless neighborhoods. It was the perfect setting for a boy with a vivid imagination who wanted to draw pictures.

Early in his career, he learned the importance of composition and color mixing from renowned teacher David Hardy who instructed Bill in the baroque painting style.

Bill later incorporated color temperature and light to produce a rich color palette with brilliantly saturated colors as well as glowing light. Bill’s career soared and he became a distinguished artist who won numerous awards for his outstanding paintings.  Many of his works were displayed in prominent Carmel galleries before he started the Bill Parsons Art Gallery and School of Fine Arts in Benicia.

It was while in Benicia, in addition to adopting a more painterly style,  he experienced a breakthrough in his art and developed a theory of color mixing that consistently produces brilliantly saturated colors as well as glowing light

Bill’s philosophy of art is: “I love all styles of painting . . . I am enamored with beauty and color. From the time I was a boy, I loved color and beauty: beautiful landscapes, seascapes, figures, horses, still life, and portraits.”

Bill will be demonstrating an oil painting in progress of a wine country scene.
