Welcome to the 2017 High School Visual Arts Competition (VAC) presented by the Lamorinda Arts Council.

The Lamorinda Arts Council's VAC showcases and acknowledges 2D, 3D, Photography, and Digital Design work by high school students who live in or attend school in Orinda, Lafayette or Moraga or the Acalanes Union High School District, including Las Lomas. The competition features cash awards, merit citations and a month long public exhibit of entries at the Orinda Library Art Gallery.

Students may submit only one art piece per category, but may enter more than one category. Your artwork must be created while you are in High School. If you are entering art in more than one category, please submit a separate survey for each category in which you are submitting artwork.

To register for the 2017 VAC, please enter your contact information and artwork details on this online form during the registration period.

Art Student Involvement - Community Service Hours opportunity! We are looking for art student volunteers for artwork intake, Awards reception, and Artwork pick-up. This will be a great learning opportunity. Please let us know if you'd be interested in helping the Lamorinda Arts Council with any or all of these jobs (you may check more than one). You will receive community service credit from the Lamorinda Arts Council.
The Lamorinda Arts Council is proud of our stewardship of the students' artwork and quite strict in documenting the receipt and return of the numerous pieces of artwork processed by our all-volunteer staff. Because the Art Exhibition will be held in a public space, it is necessary for artists to sign a Release Form. Much of the displayed art will be securely attached to wall systems. Small and fragile articles such as jewelry will be displayed in locked glass cases. Video surveillance, funded in part by the LAC, is installed at the Orinda Library Art Gallery to insure the security of your artwork. However, the LAC and City of Orinda require that you, if your are age 18 or over, or your parent, if you are under age 18, agree to a release of liability during this online registration process. Therefore, please read the following Disclaimer and Release and click agree to complete your registration.
