Special Event: Art Embraces Music, A Collaboration with Composer/Conductor Jean Ahn & Ensemble ARI Saturday September 24, 2022 8:00 - 9:30 pm

The Lamorinda Arts Council collaborates with Composer Jean Ahn and Ensemble ARI musicians for a special free program on Saturday September 24, 2022 from 8:00 - 9:30 pm in the Lafayette Library & Learning Center Community Hall, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette.

The repertoire includes SHARED for violin and piano by Belinda Reynolds; Sonata for Violin and Cello,  The Fourth Movement: Vif, avec entrain by Maurice Ravel; Nocturne & D’un matin de printemps  for violin and piano by Lili Boulanger; Footsteps for Multimedia by Jean Ahn; and Piano Trio in G Major by Claude Debussy

The musical performance is from 8:00 to 9:00. Reception then follows with light refreshments, and guests are invited onstage to view the artwork and meet artists Christian Ehrhorn, Judith Feins, Katie Korotzer, Ruth Stanton, and Pam Stefl Toki.

Our 2022 Art Embraces Words season is scheduled on Saturday afternoons with readings from 2:00 - 3:30 pm followed by a reception. We alternate writer and artist presenters, announced by our emcee Sue Farmer, LAC Board member and co-chair of Art Embraces Words. Each presenter speaks for approximately 10 minutes with a short audience Q&A. A reception follows outdoors with light refreshments in the adjacent Library Courtyard. 

Save the date for our next free, live program  a Halloween Costume Event on Oct. 29, 2 - 3:30 pm. While costumes are optional for our October 29, 2022 Halloween Program, we invite you to appear as your favorite Literary or Artistic character. Prizes will be awarded. Be there to see which playful characters show up! Find out who inspires lovers of literature and art.

The final 2022 program is a webinar hosted by AEW alumni Denise Nomura and Natalie Samuels Wheeler in November; date TBD. We invite lovers of the spoken word and visual art, writers and visual artists to register online to participate. The Webinar runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; advance sign-up is required to enter the webinar. More details coming soon!
